Sierra Leone Boxing Association is to host fifteen African countries in the Zone two tournaments in Sierra Leone in March this year.
Sierra Leone Boxing Association (SLBA) bid with countries including Nigeria and Mali to host the Zone 2 boxing tournament, but Sierra Leone won the bid.
President of Sierra Leone Boxing Association, Solomon Kargbo said that they had engaged the relevant authorities to grab the opportunity to host the fifteen countries that will take part in tournament, as that will help boost the country’s economy.
Kargbo said that that they are yet to decide on the venue of the tournament because of the renovation of the Siaka Stevens Stadium. “We are looking for a conducive venue to host this tournament even if the Siaka Stevens stadium is not available,” he landed.
According to Kargbo, things are hard for the Association and they are looking forward to government and corporate entities to support them.
