Entertainment Industry Mourns Death of Popular Videographer

Sierra Leone entertainment industry has mourned the death of Idriss Kpange, a popular entertainmentpersonality and Videographerwho died on Tuesday February 15, 2022of heart attack at the Connaught Hospital.

The deceased was a producer, editor, CEO and Co-founder of Opin Yu Yi and Founder of Concept Multimedia.

Kpange used towork for ABC TV Africa as Video Journalist and editor; he used to work with Sierra Leone top celebrities like:Xzu-B on ‘Kingtom to Brookland’, DX3 on ‘Small Borbor’ etc. Hereleaseddocumentary videos on Sierra Leone War, Ebola and Coronavirus.

Popular local musician Markmuday,the Chief Executive Officer of Slim Nation in dismay said that he saw the deceased by the gate of Mamz Beach, Beach Bar at Aberdeen during amusiclaunching on February14, 2022.

Tazzy B, a Sierra Leonean Afropop singer based in the United States said, “Oh Lord have mercy…just reading a timeline and saw that a truefriend. A man that used to work with me as a child in media has passed away. Rest well soldier Idriss Kpange.”

Alhaji K. Tarawally popularly known as Laj-K, the Chief Executive Officer of Lake Production stated, I’m heartbroken.Depression is real in Sierra Leone as the society can’t allow us to say our pain. The Sad Reality of our World.He needed help but we failed him as everyone was too busy focusing on their lives. Many didn’t even make time to chat with him or reach out to him but rathercriticized him for many things without understanding his struggles. Today we all have time to post him with RIP tag.”

According to LAJ.K, Kpange did influence a new generation of media thinking, and did show the pathway for multimedia growth in Sierra Leone. “SadWorld! Restin Peace Popay,” he concluded.
