Magistrate Peter Gorgra of Pademba Road Court No.6 in Freetown has issued a bench warrant against George Koyama, a senior male staff at the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning, after he failed to appear before him on Monday.
The accused , George Koyama was dragged to Court for insulting and assaulting his boss, Mrs. Marian Tutu Vandy, the Chief Building Inspector in the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning.
When the matter was mentioned in court, the accused was absent and in the circumstance the Police Prosecutor Woman Inspector MusuKpulun applied for a bench warrant for the accused George Koyama.
The application was granted, and the matter was adjourned to March 16,2022 for hearing.
Koyama is to answer to a criminal count charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
According to police charge sheet, the accused person George Koyama on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Youyi Building,Brookfields, in Freetown, assaulted Marian Tutu Vandy in a manner thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
Marian is the the first woman to hold the position of a chief building inspector in Sierra Leone.
