Magbele Bridge 98% Complete

The Magbele Bridge will open soon to the public because 98 percent of the work on bridge has been done.

This disclosure was made by the Director of National Authorising Office (NAO), Ambrose James during a site visit at both the Mabang and Magbele bridges.

According to him,  the construction of the  Mabang and Magbele bridges were funded  by the European Union.

Speaking at the Magbele bridge, Mr James said that  he was very pleased that the contractor is   meeting the deadline for completion,  adding that only  a little bit of finishing touches remain.

“In terms of value for money I see that the contractor is paying attention to the details of the contract as most of the things that forms the bridge are fixed. We always go on monitoring to see that what the contracting document is saying is what the contractor is doing,” he noted.

Speaking from the Manbang Bridge, the deputy team leader Engineer Alemu Damena mentioned that there has been much progress on the work done on the bridge though there are lots of challenges.

The Director of Planning Policy and Research, Sierra Leone Roads Authority and also Project Manager for the Mabang/Magbele bridge projects Vandy French said that they are satisfied with the progress and quality of the work done so far.

He believes that most of the issues raised earlier had been addressed by the consultant and contractor.
