The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning (MLHCP) has successfully completed preparation for allocation of plots of land to 200 citizens at the land layout site at Upper Allen Town on Thursday, March 17, 2022, the Lands Ministry said in statement on Tuesday.
It should be remembered that in December 2021, the Lands Ministry undertook an unprecedented land raffle draw in a bid to ensure fair and transparent allocations of government land. Over 7,000 Sierra Leoneans applied for the 200 plots advertised at Upper Allen Town in Freetown.
“The survey plans and offer letters had been signed and plots are ready for allocations. At the site, the land owners will be shown their allocated plots of land, in addition to site plan and offer presented to them.
The Ministry said in the notice that names of all winners had been gazetted as land owners on government lease at Upper Allen Town (previously known as South Africa) in the east of Freetown.
