Prosecution witness number one, Joseph Bockarie Noah has said during cross-examination by Defense lawyer Ady Macaulay that Dr. Samura Kamara was not part of procurement committee and did not present the contract document to cabinet for the rehabilitation of the Sierra Leone chancellery building in New York.
He said that the document was presented by the then Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Mohamed Gibril Sesay to cabinet.
He said Dr. Samura during the cause of Interview told the ACC that he has nothing to do with procurement.
The defense lawyer said this therefore indicates that Dr Samura Kamara was not the one who mislead the principal as indicated in the indictment charges levied against him.
The witness further confirmed that Dr Samura Kamara was not the one that signed the contract document between the government of Sierra Leone and the contractor, but the then Head of Chancery Alusine Sesay who is now deceased.
He also confirmed that the 2nd accused earlier in his statement also refer to Alusine Sesay that he informed him that due diligent was done.
However, Defense counsel E.T Koroma on behalf of 5th accused adopted the Cross-examination of his colleague.
While the witness was cross-examined by him, the witness said the 5th accused was directly answerable to the Head of Chancery as he was supervised, controlled and Managed by the Head of Chancery.
“During the cause of investigation, the fifth accused denied the allegations that was put to him and told him that he met the project ongoing, and he was not a procurement officer as he was briefed by the HOC,” the witness said.
At this juncture the matter was adjourned for further investigation.
