Old Edwardians Eschew Relegation after crucial win over Central Parade

Old Edwardians moved out of the relegation zone on Monday after two first-half goals from Michael Kargbo and Mohamed Kamara gave them a 2-0 win over struggling Central Parade.

The May Park Boys, 17th before this match, moved up to 15th, a point above the relegation zone. Old Edwardians have won four of their last six matches, drawing the other two.

They play their next three matches at home against Bai Bureh Warriors, SLIFA FC, and FC Kallon.

Old Edwardians have to win all to stay in the Premier League or pray other results go their way.

Central Parade suffered their 7th defeat of the second round (W1, D6, L7), and have lost five out of their last six matches.

They are 12th with 38 points (P31, W10, D8, L11). The Central Boys have also taken six out of forty-two possible points this second round. Their remaining fixtures are against East End Tigers (H), FC Kallon (A), and Bo Rangers (A).

At the Attouga Field, Newcomers SLIFA beat visitors Diamond Stars 1-0 to take the Diamond Boys back to the relegation zone. Mohamed Sanu scored early to take his team to 10th with 40 points. SLIFA still have to play Anti-Drugs (H), Old Edwardians (A), and East End Lions (H).

Diamond Stars who are fighting for survival have Freetown City FC (H), Police FC (H), and Mighty Blackpool (H). They are presently 16th with 33 points (P 31, W9, D6, L16).
