S/Leone movie features in Global Film Festival

‘Wath E’Behra’, a Sierra Leonean movie written and directed by Lansana Spartar Kamara and produced by Wow Studio’s Phebean Swill has  been featured in the 24th edition of the Vesuvius International Film Festival Campania in Italy.

According to the organizers of the festival, the movie was featured in festival due to its storyline, themes, characters, saying that the movie has a very clear message that could help bring positive changes in any society.

Wath E’Behra is a movie that is based on a true story about Haja Zainab Hawa Bangura, a politician and social activist who is the Director General of the United Nations Office in Nairobi since 2018.

The movie which is themed on child marriage and girl child education depicts an era when girls’ education was not a priority as they were considered less than boys.

According to the movie, Zainab having come from illiterate family in a small village, she fought her way through education from a simple village girl to a public servant as a Minister and UN Director General.

Steering the movie are: Mariama Djelo Bah, Emma Dyfan, Al-Idriss Bailal Kamara, Muctar Tejan-Cole, Alimatu Farakhan Sesay and others.
