Sierra Leone Ambassador pays courtesy visit to Netherlands counterpart in Egypt

The Sierra Leonean Ambassador to Egypt, Sadiq Silla, has on Thursday September 1, 2022, paid courtesy call on the Netherland Ambassador in a bid to woo the Country’s support in Sierra Leone’s bid for a non-Permanent seat in the United Nation Security Council 2024-2025.

Their discussions also focused on other issues of mutual interest which is aimed to support African countries to improve peace and security.

Ambassador Sadiq Silla hopes that Sierra Leone’s relationship will transcend into more development and mutual economic support and appreciated the Dutch Government’s continuous support and contribution to bolster trade, justice and human rights in Africa.

He promised to replicate the same gesture to other ambassadors in Cairo

 The Dutch Ambassador, Han-Maurits Schaapveld applauded the effort of his Sierra Leonean counterpart, mentioning that both nations have enjoyed considerable partnership.

He assured that Sierra Leone’s interest in the UN will be conveyed to the relevant authorities in Netherland. He also expressed interests in further strengthening their bilateral relations to another level.
