The Salam Memorial Foundation, a nonprofit organisation which supports the less privileged, was launched on Sunday at the Grace Centre Bible Church at Regent in Freetown.
The Launching was climaxed with the donation of consignment of used clothing and shoes to dozens of children at the Regent Community.
One of the founding members of the Salam Memorial Foundation, Violetta Martha Moody said that the foundation was formed in remembrance of her late father Pa Musa Salam Conteh whose passion was to help the needy. She said that her father was a philanthropist who believed in helping people and that the foundation was being established to continue the good work of her father.
She noted that the donated items were provided by family members and friends.
Violetta said that the Foundation was founded to extend love and kindness to others.
Pastor Howard said that it’s a worthy venture to support the Foundation. He admonished the congregation to give a helping hand to the founders to enable them to actualize the dream of their father. He noted that it is a blessing to give a helping hand to the needy.
