Police Tenders Cutlass and Pickaxe in Murder Case

Detective Police Sergeant, Issa Kamara, has on Monday 3rd October, 2022, tendered cutlass and pickaxe in the ongoing preliminary investigation into the alleged murder of one Memunatu Bangura.

The accused are arraigned before Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Pademba Road Court No.1 on two counts of conspiracy and murder.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons Mai Dumbuya, Tamba Lebbie, Alfred Kargbo, Ishmael Samura and Peter Kalokoh on Sunday 5th May 2022, at “Big Wata”, main peninsula road Goderich conspired to murder Memunatu Bangura.

 The fifth prosecution witness is attached to the exhibit office at the Criminal Investigations Department.

He recalled that on the 17th July 2022, Police  Inspector Karim J.N. attached to the homicide syndicate at CID, handed over to him  2 old white t-shirts, one pickaxe and one old cutlass with a black handle.

The witness added that the said exhibits were registered in the Court Exhibit Book against serial number 148/2022 and had since been in the custody of the police.

 The exhibits were produced and tender in court respectively to form part of the prosecution case.

During Cross examinee by Lawyer E.T. Koroma, the witness said he was only in custody of the said items with no forensic evidence whatsoever.

Bail was refused and the matter was adjourned to Tuesday the 11th   of October 2022 for further hearing.
