Sierra Leone’s senior male football team, the Leone Stars will play friendlies with Algeria and Rwanda from the 13th to 18th of November 2022 in preparation of the African Nations Cup (AFCON) 2023 qualifiers.
Leone Stars recently lost two friendlies woefully conceding a total of seven goals and scoring none prompting the Sierra Leone Minister of Sports to question the ability of Leone Stars Head Coach John Keister.
These friendlies according to John Keister are to give an opportunity to players who have been called up, but are yet to play for Sierra Leone as he is still trying to stabilise the squad.
According to the Media and Communication Officer at the Sierra Leone Football Association, Lamin Tarawalie, the two friendlies will be played in Dubai on the 13-18 November 2022 with government set to fund them fully.
According to the head to head between Sierra Leone and Algeria after six matches Sierra Leone had three draws, two loses and one victory.
