Bench Warrant Issued against CEO of Capitol Finance

Magistrate Mark Ngegba has issued bench warrant against  the Chief Executive Officer of Capitol Finance R.M Roberts for failing to appear in Court.  

The bench warrant was issued after the lawyer representing the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), T.A Jah on Saturday, December 3, applied for bench warrant against defendant.

The defendant is dragged to NASSIT Court on a count charge of failure to pay social security contributions contrary to Section 32 (1) (C) of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust Act No. 5 of 2001. 

 According to the chargesheet, the first defendant Capitol Finance Co. Ltd. and the Chief Executive Officer RM Roberts on diverse dates between December 2013 and May 2022, at No. 36 Lightfoot Boston Street, Freetown, did fail to pay social security contributions in the sum of forty million seven hundred and nine thousand eight hundred and twenty-seven Leones twenty-nine cent (Le40, 709, 827, 29) for it workers to the Trust within the required period.

The defendants were not represented by a lawyer. The matter was adjourned to December 10, 2022.
