Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Secretariat and the Sierra Leone Chamber of Agri-business Development (SLeCAD) are to organize the 4th annual national scaling-up nutrition fair in Moyamba in their quest to boost nutrition in Sierra Leone.
Ahmed Nanoh, Executive Secretary of SLeCAD, told a news conference in Freetown that the three-day nutrition fair will commence on March 9, 2023. He said that the fair is themed: “Eat Nutritious Food for Healthy Living”.
The Scaling Up Nutrition Secretariat which is under the Office of the Vice President is working with private sector institutions including Civil Society Organisations to achieve food sufficiency and improve on nutrition in the country.
The Executive Secretary further explained that the event would help food producers identify access to market and finance, and offers an opportunity to producers to showcase the nutritious food they produce.
“The event would help policymakers to look into policy environment on local financing, interest rate, long time financing, grace period for financing and generally improve policies on access to finance,” he said.
On behalf of SLeCAD and other private sector, Nanoh expressed gratitude to the Scaling Up Nutrition for working with the institution.
