Mid-West and Special Line Set to Battle for Men’s T20 Cricket Premier League

The Sierra Leone Men’s T20 Cricket Premier League is screeching to a tense halt after 42 days of 20 competitive clashes among seven zealous clubs.

The second week of June will feature the Men’s grand finale as highly rated, all match winner Mid-West face boisterous newcomer Special Line for an epic show. The Prince of Wales seaside oval will witness a history of its kind.

This match, being a title decider, has already begun spreading wild rumours originated from diehard fans, skeptics, and cricket elites.

Here are facts about both sides:

Mid-West

Mid-West Cricket Club was established on October 1, 2008. Fifteen years on, the Westerners have won five T20 Premier League championship trophies (2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017). Added to this, they have lifted one Super League Championship trophy (2015).

They have won five runner-up trophies (2015, 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022).

Grim for uncommon grace, the Westerners are looking for their sixth senior men’s league title.

Special Line

Special Line won the 2013 Sierra Leone Cricket Under-13 Boys T20 Championship. New on the block, they rose through the ranks in quick succession and ended up winning the 2022 Men’s T20 Cricket Division 1 League to gain promotion to Sierra Leone’s second top tier Men’s senior league.

Like a hungry hyena looking for its next meal, the men from Special Line are dusting off malignant spirits to hold the Westerners at bay by the spirits that be and to prevent them from landing their sixth league title.

Cricket Sierra Leone is getting the ground ready to make the day a memorable one.
