By Desmond Tunde Coker

The Technical Department of the Sierra Leone Football Association is set to hold a Coach Instructors’ Course designed to train trainers of coaches to develop the profession across the Country, through capacity building.

The course will take place from Wednesday the 2nd of August to Wednesday the 23rd of August 2023 at the SLFA Academy Conference Hall.

The Sierra Leone Football Association has called for interested applicants to send their in their forms to the Technical Department of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Kingdom Freetown, or their respective Regional Football Association offices as the registration process commences from the date of publication of this release to Friday, July 28th, 2023.

According to a release from the Association applicants must hold a CAF License A, B, or C with a minimum of five years coaching experience, to be eligible for acceptance.  Shortlisted applicants are expected to pay a course fee of Le 2,000 before commencing the course.

This is not the first time such a training is being organized by the Sierra Leone Football Association for Coach Instructors in the country. Recently the SLFA organized a refreshers training for coaches to serve as wake a up call in doing their roles as coaches. The organization of this course came after the just concluded Ordinary Congress of the Sierra Leone Football Association at the Radison Blue Hotel in Freetown.

It is believed that the training will strongly help coaches and instructors to shape their knowledge of the game and improve their understanding and application of the new laws of the game.
