After their ICC U-19 World Cup Africa qualifiers opener against hosts Tanzania was rain-washed on Sunday, Kenya return to the crease with a clash against Sierra Leone on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam.
Kenya also have Namibia, whose match against Namibia was also rained off on Sunday, await on Wednesday while Uganda will be waiting on Friday.
Nigeria will be Kenya’s opponent on Saturday.
With weather being touted as a factor in deciding the qualifying series, it will be interesting to see how the fixtures pan out in the long run.
Only one team from the African qualifiers will proceed to Sri Lanka.
The Kenyan team has skipper Vishal Patel, Vaibhav Naresh, Krish Hatia, Neel Doshi, Darsh Panchani, Aarnav Patel, Vatsal Shah, Yash Gohil (wicket-keeper), Brian Kikavu (wicketkeeper), Stian Smith, Hitendra Sanghani, Raj Pankmhaniya, Didan Etabale and Kennedy Wangoi.
A total of 13 teams have already booked their tickets for Sri Lanka 2024, including Nepal and New Zealand, who joined the 11 automatically qualified nations by virtue of winning their respective regional qualifiers in Asia and East Asia and Pacific earlier this year.
15 round-robin tournament matches are taking place across two venues in Dar-es-Salaam, the Dar Gymkhana Club Ground and the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDSM).
