Mama Salone Children Foundation and Fashion Angency, an organisation that promotes Sierra Leone culture and entertainment, has recently launched a fashion show, ‘Cultural Runaway’ at the Wusum Hotel in Makeni.

The fashion show is to promote the rich culture of Sierra Leone through entertainment.

The launch which was attended by Patrick Babah Koroma, president of the Makeni Models, and many other celebrities, is scheduled for November 3, 2023 at the Wusum Hotel.

According to Admire Blessing Conteh, founder of the organisation, the primary objective of the foundation is to change the lives of the vulnerable in the society.

Conteh said that there is the need to hold the event to help showcase talents, contribute to the growth of the nation’s economy as well as showcase its beautiful culture and heritage to the world.

“This event will take you back to the 1990s, a golden era of Sierra Leone’s cultural dressing, as we embark on an edutainment journey to honour and celebrate the rich heritage of Mama Salone’s clothing tradition,” she said.

She said that the event would be a groundbreaking initiative which would reignite the flames of the true Sierra Leonean identity, reconnect its roots, preserve its legacy and showcase diversity and inclusivity, thus embracing Sierra Leonean heritage.

Conteh encouraged people to come out in their numbers to support the event.
