Belarus, Sierra Leone discuss expansion of economic co-operation

Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi has met with Ambassador of Sierra Leone to Belarus (with residence in Moscow) Mohamed Yongavo.

During the meeting, the parties touched upon issues of expanding political dialogue, trade-economic liaisons and humanitarian interaction, and organising mutual visits.

Dmitry Krutoi noted that Belarus attaches great importance to the development of the entire range of ties with African countries.

The Belarusian Ambassador also underlined the importance of completing the work on preparing a bilateral agreement on the creation of a joint committee on trade-economic co-operation. Dmitry Krutoi said that the signing of the document will give impetus to interaction between Belarus and Sierra Leone in this area.

“Mohamed Yongavo identified agriculture as one of the priority and promising areas of collaboration with Belarus. The Ambassador of Sierra Leone expressed interest in the Belarusian experience in the development of the agro-industrial complex and the mechanisation of agricultural production. The Sierra Leonean diplomat also noted the importance of exhibitions and trade fairs and interaction between business communities,” the statement reads.

The two sides also discussed issues of developing co-operation in the educational sphere.
