One of the leading technology companyies, Zoodlabs-SL Limited, in its bid to improve internet connectivity in the country, has embarked on a two-day Sustainable Development project in different communities across Freetown by distributing building materials, materials for pipe borne water supply and cash to support the work in communities.
This distribution started on Friday, September 22, 2023, at the Leicester/Gloucester and Tower Hill communities, and continued on October 23, 2023 at the Goderich and Aberdeen communities in Freetown.
Henry Haffner, ACE O & M and CBP lead, mentioned that at Zoodlabs-SL Limited, they are working with rules and regulation in building the nation, as well as with the community development action plan (CDAP) to ensure they give back to society.
He disclosed that as an institution with a site at the Leicester Peak community, it is part of their corporate responsibility to serve as a brighter example by helping communities where they operate by addressing their basic needs. In that respect, they are in the first community on their list and will continue to meet the others in the list. He disclosed that during a meeting with the communities last year, several needs were highlighted, and that they are in the community now to provide what they had promised during the said meeting.
He noted that among the needs of the community were pipe borne water equipment and fund to support project work. Thus, they have now provided pipe borne water supply materials and over a million Leone to support the workmanship to ensure that the work is done on time.
Continuing their engagement, Zoodlabs officials went to the Tower Hill Community, where they again did the same presentation of the required equipment and cash for the workmanship. Similar engagement was made in the Aberdeen Community, but this time, they presented building materials to help the community renovate their Community Centre. The materials donated include gallons of paint, zinc, hardboard and cash.
At Goderich community, the final destination for the distribution process, the officials of Zoodlabs-SL provided cements, vanish, roofing nail, and cash to the elders of the community to help them on building a school for the community, as these were the agreed materials requested by the community. Mr Henry highlighted that the support it is an ongoing process, noting that they will do more.
In the different communities where the donations were made, Stakeholders, Councilors, Chairladies, Youth Leaders and residents commended Zoodlabs for their support, and expressed appreciation to the company for remembering them and helping in developing their communities.
