Sierra Leone getting ready for its next friendly against Somalia today Tuesday, October 17, 2023, after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Benin in Morocco on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Sierra Leone took the lead in the 32nd minute after Mohamed Buya Turay scored.
It was much better as time progressed for the two teams during the second half with lots of incredible performances by first-timer players, not until the 90+ minutes when Cedric Hountondji fire back to get the equalizer to go home with a point this time around.
It could be recalled that Benin was the team the Leone Stars defeated to go to the 2022 Cameron African Cup of Nations.
Leone Stars will go again today for the first time against Somalia’s last five matches they won 0 drew 0 and lost 5. In Sierra Leone’s last five matches, they won 1 drew 2, and lost 2. These friendlies are part of Abdul Karim’s preparation for the African World Cup qualifiers next month.
