Mogbwemo Queens put an end to Malema Queens’ unbeaten run

Current champions, Mogbwemo Queens over the weekends put an end to Malema Queens’ unbeaten streak with a commanding 5-1 victory at the Kailahun Field, Kailahun Town, during week five of the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League 2023/2024 season.

The reigning champions asserted their dominance, controlling possession and securing five goals.

Wuya Mohai, the prolific striker, set the tone by scoring in the 4th minute and doubling the lead in the 7th minute. Mariama Sambu continued the scoring spree with a goal in the 45th minute, while Skipper Kadiatu M. Kamara maintained her match-based scoring streak in the 65th minute.

In the 87th minute, Wuya Mohai completed her hat-trick, earning the title of Player of the Match. However, Malema Queens found consolation as they were awarded a penalty which Sallay Turay converted in the 96th minute.

Mogbwemo Queens maintain their lead in the SLE Women’s Premier League with maximum points from five games and scoring 20 goals.

The team will host the Sierra Leone Police Female team at home on Sunday, January 27th 2024.
