Sierra Leone International and former Odense Boldklub (OB) Striker Mohamed Buya Turay has announced on his social media handle that he has joined Birmingham Legion FC of the United Soccer League (USL).
Buya 29-year-old joined the American club on a three-year contract after a season with OB in the Danish Superligaen.
Björn Wesström, Football Director at OB, expressed gratitude for Buya’s contributions to the club during his time with them and wished him and his family the best for their future in this new chapter of his career.
“We express our gratitude for Buya’s valuable contributions to OB during his tenure and we extend our best wishes to him and his family for their future success as he embarks on this new chapter of his career.”
Turay joined OB in March 2023 following a brief stint with Malmo FF in Sweden. During his time with OB, he made several appearances and contributed a number of goals.
The striker shared his appreciation for his stay at OB saying:
” I really appreciate what OB did to bring me and my family into the club, I am eternally grateful and wish the best for the club’s future.”
