FC Kallon’s Kumba Brima Awarded Female Footballer  of 2023/24 Season

Just after the conclusion of the Sierra Leone Women’s League 2023/2024 season, with her extra ordinary performance in the second edition of the country’s female top-tier league, FC Kallon Female forward, Kumba Zainab Brima has on Friday June 28th, 2024, been awarded the Player of the Season for the 2023/24 Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League during the awards night and closing ceremony hosted at the Freetown International Conference Centre, at Bintumani Hotel.

Kumba Zainab Brima also won the Golden Boot with 39 goals, breaking her own very record of 26 the previous season. She also registered 12 assists and was rewarded with a cheque of Le 15,000 for her exceptional performance.

Other awardees include; Kadiatu Musa Kamara, Mogbwemo Queens’ skipper named the playmaker of the season, Hannah Juana won the best goalkeeper award for the second time in a row. Again, Adama Paulina Suma was awarded the best coach of the season, after she won the title with an unbeaten run; as she recorded 21 wins and 1 draw in the 22 matches played.

The relegated side, Albitaya Queens based in Koinadugu District won the fair play award, despite losing all matches they were able to honor all fixtures.

Statement of assurance and commitment to supporting women’s football was made by the following institutions such as; SLFA President, NSA Executive Director, and the Ministry of Sports Madam Minister. CAF Zone A Chairman and team were in attendance congratulating Sierra Leone for such a fantastic closing emphasizing the fact that it is all the more reason why the female Champions League Qualifiers will be hosted in Sierra Leone.
