Freetown, 21 September 2024 – In a powerful message marking the International Day of Peace, Sierra Leonean rapper and Peace Ambassador Alhajie Amadu Bah, popularly known as King Boss LA, called on citizens at home and abroad to embrace peace as a foundation for national development. His appeal aligns with the global celebration aimed at promoting harmony and non-violence.

“Peace is not just the absence of war; it is the presence of justice, compassion, and respect for one another,” LAJ said, emphasizing the importance of peace in Sierra Leone. He pointed to the country’s role as a member of the United Nations and its current position on the UN Security Council, stressing Sierra Leone’s responsibility to lead by example in promoting peace and cooperation on the global stage.

In his address, LAJ urged all Sierra Leoneans to actively contribute to creating a peaceful society. “We must all become ambassadors of peace,” he said, calling for unity and urging citizens to foster harmony within their communities. He underscored the need for collective efforts in building a more peaceful and prosperous nation.

As the CEO of the Red Flag Movement (RFM) and appointed Peace Ambassador by President Brig. (Rtd.) Julius Maada Bio in February 2024, LAJ’s mandate includes promoting reconciliation, advocating for peace both locally and internationally, and facilitating peaceful conflict resolution. His role reflects a commitment to spreading messages of unity and non-violence.

LAJ’s call for peace resonates deeply in Sierra Leone, a nation that has experienced significant challenges in its quest for stability. His advocacy for solidarity comes at a crucial time as the country continues to rebuild and pursue sustainable development. By urging all Sierra Leoneans to embrace peace, King Boss LA’s message serves as a timely reminder that national progress depends on the commitment of every individual to promote harmony and unity.
