East End Lions register first Premier League win

Former Premier League champions East End Lions secured their first win of the season, beating Bai Bureh Warriors 1-0 at Approved School Field on Saturday.

Osman Koroma scored for the Killers in the 17th minute, giving them their first goal of the season courtesy of a Sam Diallo assist.

For Bai Bureh Warriors, this is their second defeat in three games. Last season, the Sabanoh Boys won one of their first three games, drew one, and lost the other.

At SLFA Academy, Old Edwardians maintained their 100% record, defeating Mighty Blackpool 2-1 to move up to second place.

Today, Diamond Stars will host champions Bo Rangers, Wilberforce Strikers will entertain Bullom Stars, and Freetonians SLIFA will welcome FC Kallon.

Mohamed Bangura scores brace as Bhantal hit Wusum Stars for four

Mohamed Bangura scored a brace as Bhantal FC thrashed Wusum Stars 4-0 to go top of the Premier League table.

The striker, who netted 13 goals last season, needed just 26 minutes to score the opener for Bhantal before Fleance Kamara doubled the lead 9 minutes later.

Before the interval, Mohamed added his second, and Mohamed Kamara sealed the win for the leaders.

Last season, Bhantal drew their first three matches (1-1 with East End Lions, 0-0 with Diamond Stars, and 0-0 with Old Edwardians).

Wusum Stars, who have already drawn two and lost one, won one and drew two in the previous campaign, finishing fourth in the table.

At the Approved School Field, Luawa FC’s 100% record ended after a 0-0 draw with Freetown City FC.
