Freetown, Sierra Leone (January 6, 2025) – In a dramatic turn of events, Emerson Bockarie Senesie, an alleged fraudster, made his second appearance before Magistrate Wilbrie John at Pademba Road Court No.7. Senesie and has been remanded for allegedly obtaining fifty thousand United States dollars under false pretenses, claiming it was for transporting gold.
The accused faces two serious charges: conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916. According to court documents, Senesie conspired with unknown individuals between 17th February and 7th June 2024 in Liberia, deceiving the complainant, Mary Theresa Kamara, into believing he would purchase and ship gold to her in the United States.
During the court proceedings, Senesie pleaded not guilty to the charges. Despite his plea, Magistrate John denied bail and ordered that Senesie remain in custody until the next hearing. The case has been adjourned for further proceedings.
