Last season’s runners-up, Bhantal FC, are enjoying a fine start in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League, securing an impressive away win. Week 6 kicked off with SLIFA holding Wilberforce Strikers to a 0-0 draw, thanks to a stellar performance from goalkeeper Francis Koroma, who took home the Man of the Match award.
League leaders Bhantal FC maintained their unbeaten run with a crucial victory, courtesy of Adebayor Black’s lone goal. This win boosts their points tally to 16, keeping them at the top of the table. In another thrilling encounter, Diamond Stars staged a dramatic comeback, overturning a 2-0 deficit to win 3-2 against FC Kallon. Coach Pa Issa Conteh’s decision to introduce former Cavalier starlet Baimba Sesay proved decisive, as Sesay played a pivotal role in the comeback.
The league debutants, Star Sport Academy, stunned defending champions Bo Rangers with a 2-1 victory. Abdulai Kamara’s brace in the 34th and 79th minutes earned him the Player of the Match accolade. East End Lions edged out Ports Authority with a 1-0 win, thanks to a sensational finish from their star player Sulaiman S. Kargbo.
On the other hand, Mighty Blackpool, Bai Bureh Warriors, and Kamboi Eagles are still searching for their first win of the season.
