Freetown, Sierra Leone, February 13, 2025 – The Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of former Leone Stars captain and international football icon, Mohamed Kallon, as the Head Coach of the Sierra Leone National Senior Men’s Team, Leone Stars.
Kallon, one of Sierra Leone’s most celebrated footballers, will assume his duties immediately as the team prepares for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. The Leone Stars are set to face Guinea Bissau and Egypt next month, with Kallon leading the charge.
The SLFA will officially unveil Mohamed Kallon at a press conference, the date of which will be announced later.
This appointment marks a significant step forward for Sierra Leone football, as Kallon brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to the national team. The SLFA is confident in his ability to inspire and guide the Leone Stars on the global stage. Kallon holds a UEFA Pro License, which qualifies him to coach the national team.
