Sierra Leonean musician Seydu Jalloh has announced that he is working on his much-anticipated album, I Pray, which he revealed will be released soon. The album draws inspiration from the socio-economic challenges facing Sierra Leone and the world, aiming to deliver a poignant message of hope, resilience, and unity.
Speaking to Premier News on Friday, April 4, 2025, Jalloh shared the inspiration behind the album’s title. “After observing the struggles and hardships people endure daily, I found myself in deep reflection. I realized that the only thing I can truly do is pray—for my nation, for the world, and for a better future,” he explained. His prayers, he emphasized, extend beyond Sierra Leone to global issues such as economic struggles, environmental crises, and the hardships faced by immigrants seeking better lives.
The album, which will feature 12 tracks, marks a significant milestone for Jalloh as it is being entirely recorded in Sierra Leone. “This is the first time I am recording all my songs in my home country. I want people to hear and feel the essence of our musical heritage,” he said. The production is in collaboration with renowned Sierra Leonean producer Solo’s Beats.
In addition to spreading a message of hope through his music, Jalloh used the opportunity to advise young musicians in Sierra Leone. He urged them to focus on honing their craft, learning to play instruments, and improving their vocal skills instead of engaging in conflicts or rivalries. “Music is about creativity and growth. Instead of criticizing each other, young artists should invest time in developing their talent and producing quality music,” he said.
As he completes I Pray, Jalloh remains dedicated to inspiring change and uplifting the spirits of his listeners. He believes that music, combined with faith and perseverance, can serve as a powerful tool for societal transformation. While the release date for I Pray is yet to be announced, excitement among fans is already building as they anticipate his latest musical offering.
