In a historic and unopposed election, 5792 Mohamed Mubashir Massaquoi, has been elected as the National Secretary General of the Old Bo Boys Association (OBBA). His nomination was put forward by Dr. Prince Harding (2643) and seconded by Kotor Sullay B. Sesay (1866).
Massaquoi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Deputy National Secretary General for the past four years. A proud alumnus of Bo Government Secondary School, he attended from Form One to Upper Six, where he held numerous leadership positions, including Senior Manager of Food, Block Head, Class Prefect, Chief Imam, and Senior Prefect/Head Boy. During his tenure as Senior Prefect, he supervised 956 pupils, earning respect and recognition from peers and juniors alike.
Well-regarded within OBBA circles, Massaquoi is known for his strong connections with the Ngors, Kothors, peers, and younger members of the association. Upon his election, he expressed gratitude to the OBBA membership, particularly his nominators, Dr. Harding and Kothor Sullay Sesay.
In his acceptance remarks, Massaquoi outlined his vision for OBBA, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing the association’s operations. He pledged to initiate new projects, foster innovative ideas, strengthen coordination among members, and increase membership engagement. Additionally, he aims to support improved discipline at Bo School and uphold the tradition of respect for seniority within the association.
“Managing a Secretariat is an experience I have had for decades,” Massaquoi stated. “With God’s help, the National Executive will ensure that no alumni association in Sierra Leone equals OBBA.”
Massaquoi’s election marks a new chapter for OBBA, with members eagerly anticipating the positive changes he has promised to bring.
