The Embassy of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the Guinean capital, Conakry, has in a press release dated Wednesday, October 14, 2020, stated that reports of Sierra Leoneans being harassed and molested in Conakry are false and deliberate.

The release further stated that the Sierra Leone’s embassy in Conakry in collaboration with the Sierra Leone National Union has been engaging Sierra Leone across the country through mainstream media and community meetings to admonish them  on ways they could safely conduct themselves during this electioneering time.

It stated further that no Sierra Leonean is reported to have been embarrassed and or molested, and advised thus: “every Sierra Leonean in Guinea is advised to peacefully go about his/her normal business and refrain from involving or participating in the “politics” of the Republic of Guinea.”

“Sierra Leoneans that have naturalized and have voting rights in Guinea are asked to stay away from electioneering camping’s and wait for voting day to vote,” the release concluded.
