The Sierra Leone Football Association has in a letter dated October 19, 2020 informed Kambui Eagles Football Club that it would not participate in the 2020/21 CAF Champions League owing to its nonfulfillment of CAF’s Club License requirement.
SLFA in the letter stated that, “we regret to inform you that your club has not met the conditions precedent to be issued with a Club License. As such, your intention to participate in the CAF Inter Club Champions League 2020/2021 is rejected.”
This decision came after a team of senior SLFA staff made an inspection visit to assess Kambui Eagles’ Club License status.
it could be recalled that after all sporting activities was put on hold due to the current coronavirus, the Sierra Leone Premier League Board Chairman in a meeting with all 14 clubs asked four clubs namely; East End Lions, Kambui Eagles, FC Kallon and Bo Rangers to choose among themselves which one would like to participate in the CAF competitions. Kambui eagles was one of them who opted to show case their players in the competition. But with the latest information the fans of Kambui eagle will definitely feel disappointed.
