Abdul salaam Turay, the overseer of the Dream Chasers, a local record label in the east of Freetown, has said that the outfit is to sign contracts with upcoming musicians to nurture, groom and boost their potentials in music.
He made this revelation to Premier News on Friday October 30, 2020, in an interview during which he also revealed that they have realized that upcoming artists have not been given much attention by the elders and some stakeholders in the music industry.
“We want to make good music so that at the end of the day, the young ones would realize their talent and make a living out of it. We believe that there are young talented musicians that can do better, but they are not spotted, so we want to sign such people that will produce good music in the country,” he promised.
He said that they are focusing on the young musicians simply because they would take over from the older ones after they would have faded away.
“We have no age limit. We are looking for talent that can help develop the country through music,” he said.
He explained that the label was established on February 11, 2020, to produce good music in the entertainment industry.
