Gibrill Aruna Kargbo, aka Coco Rhymes, a local musician, singer and song writer, has released a single song titled ‘Slow Poison’ on Tuesday November 10, 2020. In the song he featured Succulent, a renowned musician.
According to Rhymes, the song describes the feeling which one has when one has found a partner he feels passionate about.
“The song talks about love and lovers. There are certain feelings one should never be able to stand nor resist. You would be enough to be yourself, but when it comes to real feeling, you would never be who you used to be,” he said.
Rhymes started his career as a musician in 2015. He had been motivated by his friends and relations who had observed his melodious voice and encouraged him to pursue a career in music.
He also mentioned that his grandfather had been a musician, who used to play the ‘Condi’ a string instrument made with a length of wood fitted to a gourd holding a string which runs from the gourd to the tip of the length of wood.
Kargbo sings different genres of music like Afro and RnB, and he produces songs that inspire and educate the youth and people around.
Coco Rhymes has released hit songs like: ‘U Mama Know’, which sheds light on drug abuse by young people in the country; and it, was a big hit which served as a best song of the year 2020. Others are ‘One Fine Day’, ‘Woman Nor to Man Padi’, ’Booty Bag’, ‘U Dae Witch’ and many more.
