Sierra Leone: Scene of Crime Officer testifies in case of Burglary

Detective Police Constable 17308 Kadiatu Kamara, the Scene of Crime Officer attached to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Ross Road Police Station has on Thursday December 3rd 2020 testified on the on the going trial of burglary and larceny at the Ross Road Magistrate Court no 1 presides by Magistrate Alhaji Sulaiman Koroma.

She said that on September 29th, 2020, she visited a place at Kanikay, Clinetown, Freetown where a case of Burglary and Larceny which had been reported at the station was said to have occurred.  She said that Detective Sergeant 8571 had asked to be accompanied. She added that when they arrived there she took various snapshots with her Techno mobile phone which she later developed into photographs. 

The witness further tendered the said photographs to form part of the court’s records.

In the Police Charge sheet the accused on the August 29, 2020, with intent to steal broke and entered into the dwelling house of Aiah Swaray and stole the sum of Le 2,700,000, one Techno mobile phone and one ATM card, all to the total value of 4, 270,000.

The accused, Henry Conteh, was charged with one count of Burglary and Larceny contrary to Section 25 (1)(13)(a)  of the Larceny Act 1916. The matter was adjourned to December 10th, 2020.
