Sierra Leone: Lions International donates assorted medical supplies

Lions International Club in collaboration with Pharco Pharmaceutical Company has on Monday January 4, 2021, donated 10 cartoons of assorted medicinal supplies to the Government of Sierra Leone

The donated medicines include: Glycerin Ichthyol, Baby Comfort Oint, Recardopril 2.5 MG, Recardopril 10MG, Frusetone 20/50mg, and Cefazone 500MG Vial, Cefzin 1MG VIAL, Hydroxocobalamin 1MG – 1ML, PodaceF 100MG TAB, Zonactan 1.5GM VIAL.

Receiving the donated items, Ambassador Morie Fofana appreciated the two partners for their kind gesture especially during this crucial period when Sierra Leone is battling with COVID-19 and other health issues.

He encouraged Lions International Club and Pharco to visualize Sierra Leone as one of the nations that is open for investment in all spectrums. He assured the donors that the donated items would reach the people and would be used judiciously.

Dr. Mahmoud, President of Lions Club International Foundation in Egypt, said that they would be embarking on a project in a bid to provide humanitarian support for vulnerable communities in Sierra Leone.

He added that the donation was the third, revealing that the their first donation entailed Hepatitis B and anemia drugs for thirty-six thousand children across the country.

He noted that their group has also extended support to Nigeria,   Tanzania,   Zimbabwe,   Ghana   and   Congo Brazaville with assorted medicines. 

Pharco Pharmaceuticals   is   an Egyptian drug manufacturing company founded in 1983. The Company operates in the field of Pharmacy manufacturing, marketing, distributing and exporting of a comprehensive array of generic and branded generic drugs under the name of Pharco, along with a rising number of licensed pharmaceutical products.  

He said that the shipment of the donated drugs is in its final stages and would be consigned to Ministry of Foreign affairs and International Cooperation and later to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.
