Sierra Leonean born Michael Conteh has been selected by CAF under the assistant referee category to officiate the U-20 Cup of African Nation final tournament in Mauritania.
Conteh is the only referee from Sierra Leone who made the list of referees that will be officiating the upcoming U20 competition in Mauritania.
His appointment came following his remarkable performances during the two time SLFA/FIFA Member Association Courses organized by the Sierra Leone Football Association with expert from FIFA.
Conteh expressed delight over her appointment and thanked the Sierra Leone Football Association and Madam Isha Johansen for her supports towards pushing for greatness for referees in Sierra Leone.
“I know more success is ahead of us and this will be an inspiration to other referees whom I trust can do the work very well,” he added.
“At the international level of which I am going to represent Sierra Leone, I will make the country proud,” he said.
