Sierra Leone: First lady congratulates Drizilik over MTV nomination

The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Fatima Bio has congratulated musician Benjamin Menelik George popularly known as Drizilik on his nomination in the category of Listeners’ Choice in the   Music Television (MTV) Base Awards 2021, alongside Tiwa Savage of Nigeria, Khaligraph Jones of Kenya etc.

She posted on social media: “Congratulations to you Mr. Drizilik for your nomination at the MTV Africa Music Award. Representing Mama Salone should be a pride to all and sundry. We are super proud of your achievements and keep flying our flag high.”

She pleaded to all companies who sold data for internet consumption to give out free data towards the voting exercise to “their very own Drizilik” as their corporate social responsibility to the nation.

The First lady emphasized, “Africa is a huge continent, so just the nomination is a big deal, but winning will put icing on the cake.”

She encouraged Sierra Leoneans to put more efforts by voting for Drizilik.

She encouraged Drizilik to do more and keep flying Sierra Leone’s flag.

“Please let us rally around him and make this happen for ‘Mama Salone,’” she concluded.

The Award ceremony will be hosted by the American Iconic and legendary Music Producer DJ Khalid on February 20, in Kampala, Uganda.

The MTV Africa Music Awards was established in 2008 by MTV Networks Africa to celebrate the most popular contemporary music in Africa.
