Sierra Leone: Man remanded for allegedly stealing over Le1bn

Magistrate Mark Ngegba presiding at Principlal Magistrate Court No 1 on Pademba Road Freetown has on Wednesday February 3, 2021 sent Lu Ke Zhao, a Chinese national on remand.  The accused is being investigated on the charges of conspiracy to defraud, larceny and malicious damage contrary to law.

The police are alleging that between Saturday July 1, 2019 and Tuesday  July 30, 2019, Mr. Lu, at Three (3) Mile, Waterloo conspired with other unknown persons to defraud Ibrahim Barrie the sum of US$153, 900  (Le1, 575,366, 500).

The police also alleged that  the accused on Tuesday  July 10,  2019, at same place stole a timber logs worth over US$153,900 (Le 1,575,366,500) also owned by, Ibrahim Barrie, and also on Tuesday  July 30, 2019 at the same place maliciously cause damaged to a quantity of timber logs.

Yusuf Isaac Sesay prosecuted the matter for the state, and R.B. Kowa Esq. stood in defense of the accused.
