Orange Money ‘Shorki Love’ promotion which started on October 2020 and ended in January 2021 was part of the Orange Sierra Leone’s end of year promotion which offered cash prices which valued Le 3 billion including 5 brand new cars.
Orange through Orange Money has on Tuesday March 16, 2021 handed over four brand new Corolla 1.6 XLI cars with zero mileage to the four winners at the Company’s headquarters in Freetown.
Giving a background to the activities, Martha Sumaila of Orange-SL, said that Orange Money turned a lot of people into millionaires every week.
She added that one of the winners, Zainab, a lady from Kenema had received her car prior to Tuesday’s symbolic presentation.
She said that the promotion was for all valid Orange Money users, and they became eligible for the raffle draw from which the winners emerged by sending, receiving, using Orange E-wallet to do banking and pay for bills or buy goods.
She further disclosed the following customers as winners, Magdalene Shylon of Wilkinson Road, Morie Kandeh from Kabala, Ishmael Conteh from Njala, and Augustine Tucker from Berwick Street in Freetown. She alluded to the diversity in the localities from which the winners hailed as a testament to fairness of the promotion, and emphasized the fact that “you can win, as long as you are an Orange subscriber”.
In his statement, Chief Executive Officer Orange Money, David Mansaray was excited by the smiles from the faces of the winners, which he said clearly showed that Orange Money has changed the lives of people in Sierra Leone. He congratulated all of them, adding that their winnings would make a difference in their lives.
“If you use Orange money, it will not only help you with your daily life, but you might be a lucky winner.”
One of the winners, Magdalene Shyllon of Wilkinson Road, thanked Orange Money for what she described as a life changing moments for her and her family. “I was a little bit sceptical whether it was real or not until the day I was called at the office, that was when I realized yes its true,” she said.
