A former student of the Bo Government Secondary School, Mallah Gassimu has on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, donated one PA system, two mics, and batteries to the senior school of the Christ the King College (CKC) and Bo Government Secondary School in Bo.
He made these donations during the assembly session of the two schools.
Giving the donation, Mallah said that he is passionate about education, and providing PA system to schools is the best thing to do. He noted that his birthday was on Saturday last week, adding that instead of celebrating it with family and friends he decided to use the money to buy PA system for five schools in Bo.
Mr. Mallah said that since the Government of President Julius Maada Bio introduced the free quality education, the enrollment in schools has increased and as such, he believes that for teachers to address pupils especially during assembly, they need a PA system. He said that he attended Bo Government Secondary School from form 1 to five, and his sixth form at CKC.
Mr. Mallah said that five senior secondary schools in Bo will benefit from the PA system namely: Bo School, C.K.C, Queen of the Rosary School (Q.R.S), Bo commercial school, and Ahmadiyya Muslim Secondary School (A.M.S.S), respectively. He called on the pupils and school authorities to handle the gesture and use it for it intended purpose.
A senior teacher of C.K.C Mr. Andrew Gbakie thanked Gassimu Mallah for donating to CKC a new PA system. He noted that this is not the first time Mr. Mallah is donating to the school, recalling that he had donated 50 bags of cement to CKC.
Mr Gbakie called on other old students to also support the school.
The Principal of the Bo Government Secondary School, Edward M. Kpakra thanked Gassimu for always coming onboard to help the Bo School. He described Mallah as a true Old Boy of the school. The Bo School Principal said that Mr. Mallah is not only an Old Boy of the school but the youngest Board member of the Bo School.
