Lagos, Nigeria — A Call to Business Bank (ACTB) has been honored with the Pan African Microfinance Bank of the Year Award 2024 at the 12th Pan African International Annual Conference and Awards. The event, held on October 26 in Lagos, Nigeria, celebrated top institutions across Africa, recognizing ACTB’s contribution to financial innovation and development within the microfinance sector across Sierra Leone and the sub-region.
The award is a first for the Pan African International organization, which conducted an independent customer survey across multiple indices among African countries to determine the winner. The organization, known for its dedication to highlighting Africa’s growth and investment opportunities, cited ACTB’s commitment to transforming the financial landscape as instrumental in its selection.
ACTB CEO David Kamara accepted the award, expressing pride and humility, dedicating the recognition to the microfinance industry in Sierra Leone, especially the women who form the core of ACTB’s clientele. “This is a win for Sierra Leone and a reflection of our mission to reshape the microfinance sector,” Kamara remarked, emphasizing ACTB’s dedication to fostering economic growth.
Kamara was also appointed as an Ambassador and Board of Trustees member for Pan African International Magazine in recognition of his leadership and efforts to elevate ACTB’s status. Founded in 2008, ACTB now operates 12 branches across eight districts in Sierra Leone, marking this achievement as another milestone in its history of accolades for excellence and impact on socio-economic development in the country.
