Kao Denero, a special Envoy and Ambassador of Entertainment and Investment, on Sunday, March 13, 2022 released a report on his one year term in office.
According to Kao, after he was appointed in March 1, 2021 by President Julius Maada Bio, he was able to set up an entertainment board with representatives from every area in the industry, including: comedy, music, film etc.
The board members usually discuss and make decision on behalf their sectors, according to him. Kao said an office was also set up to help solve entertainment issues. He said that the national playlist system, Sierra Leone received an official video contract from Viacom (MTV base) for five Sierra Leonean actors. “I was also able to make way for MTV Base and Dubai Expo 2020, which allow some Sierra Leonean actors to perform internationally,” he said.
