Autopsy Reveals Suffocation as Cause of Death for Two Children at Freetown School

Freetown, Sierra Leone — The Sierra Leone Police have confirmed suffocation as the cause of death for two young children found lifeless at the National Pentecostal Primary School on March 18, 2025. According to an official police statement released on Sunday, a post-mortem examination conducted on March 20 ruled out any signs of physical assault or injury.

The victims, Abdul Aziz Yusuf Kamara (3) and Patrick Hassan Kamara (2), were discovered inside a broken black Toyota Sport Edition vehicle that was parked within the school’s premises. A third child, Adama Sarah Sesay (3), was found alive in the same vehicle and was immediately rushed to receive medical attention.

Timeline of Events

Authorities reported that the three children went missing from the school, located at No. 85 Fort Street in Freetown, between 12:00 and 13:00 hours on March 18. Concerned parents and guardians alerted the police later that day at approximately 16:24 hours, leading to the discovery of the children in the vehicle.

The tragic incident has prompted a full-scale investigation to uncover the circumstances that led to the children being trapped inside the vehicle. The police have assured the public of a thorough and impartial inquiry to establish the facts and deliver justice.
