The Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation on Saturday December 10th, 2022, International Human Rights Day, crowned the Executive Director of LEGAL LINK, lawyer Rashid Dumbuya with a MEDAL OF HONOR at its 5th Service Delivery Awards held at the Port Loko City Council Hall.
The Award was in recognition of the great strides and innovative programs undertaken by Lawyer Rashid Dumbuya through LEGAL LINK in 2022 in defense of the rights of vulnerable groups in Sierra Leone.
LEGAL LINK is a legal advocacy group that defends the rights of religious communities and vulnerable groups in Sierra Leone.
The Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation is a community based organization that advocates for human rights, development, an inclusive society and service delivery through smart initiatives and community based programs.
It’s annual Service Delivery Awards is reputed for impartiality, objectivity, non- partisanship and merit.
The BAIBUREH Heritage organisation was established in 2018 and is headquartered in Port-Loko City. Its activities transcend the borders of Port -Loko and affects all and sundry.
Presenting the Award of Honour to lawyer Rashid Dumbuya, the Executive Director of Bai Bureh Heritage Foundation, Unisa Totti Fofanah said that lawyer Rashid Dumbuya has been a constant recipient of the BAIBUREH SERVICE DELIVERY AWARDS because of his immense contributions through his LEGAL LINK organization to defending the rights of vulnerable groups in the country.
He dilated that on the 5th Awards ceremony, lawyer Dumbuya had been chosen for the Award of Honour mainly because of his dedication and consistency in advocating for democracy, good governance, respect for human rights, the rule of law and Constitutionality and also for defending the rights of vulnerable groups in the country.
Lawyer Rashid Dumbuya upon receiving the Award, dedicated it to all vulnerable groups in Sierra Leone and to all staff and interns of LEGAL LINK for their steadfastness and resilience and fortitude to the course of humanity.
