Mohamed Jagitay, 21, a baker, was on Friday, September 22, 2023, sent to prison by Magistrate Mark Ngegba of Court No1 for allegedly killing of his cousin Ibrahim Jagitay.
The accused Mohamed Jagitay who made his first appearance, is charged with one count of murder contrary to law.
According to the particulars of offense, the accused on Friday, July 28, 2023, at Kellie Farm, Malambay village, Waterloo in the Western Area Rural District murdered Ibrahim Jagitay.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused in court, no plea was taken.
No legal representation was made on behalf of the accused.
The police prosecutor Inspector Sellu TAP, informed the court that he would not proceed with the matter and in the circumstance requested for an adjournment to have conference with his witnesses.
Magistrate Ngegba granted his application and remanded the accused in prison while the matter was adjourned to Tuesday, September 26, 2023.
In a brief fact of the matter from the police, it was one Ibrahim Kargbo and Sheku Marah of Malambay village that discovered the remains of the deceased after he was brutally murdered by the accused.
