The Ballanta Music Academy, in collaboration with St. Augustine’s Church, will host a heartwarming Christmas Carol on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, under the theme “Birth of a Savior”. This festive event promises an enchanting evening filled with soulful music, spiritual reflection, and a celebration of the season.
The event will take place at St. Augustine’s Church Hall, located in the western part of Freetown. Featured performances will include Sierra Leone’s talented gospel singers, the Ballanta Groovy Colours Band, and the renowned Ballanta Brass Band, along with several other captivating musical acts.
According to the organizers, the event serves more than just a spiritual purpose. It is designed to entertain, showcase local talents, and foster unity within the community. “Attendees will enjoy a rich blend of traditional and contemporary Christmas melodies, reflecting the central theme of the event: the birth of Jesus Christ and the messages of hope, joy, and love,” said the organizers.

Tickets are available in three categories: Gold Ticket (SLE 500), Silver Ticket (SLE 250), and VIP Ticket (SLE 1,000). The VIP ticket includes the added benefit of a special 6 PM reception, serving as a pre-event gathering at the Church Hall. This reception is designed to bring guests together before the main event, offering an opportunity for socializing and fellowship.
In addition to the musical performances, the event will feature food and beverage sales, with barbecue being a highlight. “This provides an excellent chance for families and friends to come together, enjoy delicious food, and celebrate the season in a festive atmosphere,” the organizers explained.
