Bea Sarafina, a model in the centre of Freetown, has won the Miss Freetown Beauty Pageant among 12 other models representing 12 communities in Freetown.
She was crowned as queen of Freetown as a result of her creativity, stage management and among other attributes her ability to connect with the audience.
The event took place at the Bintumani Hotel in Aberdeen, Freetown, and it was jam-packed with celebrities and other stakeholders.
Sarafina thanked her family, friends and fans for their unwavering support towards her achievement, and said that their supports have been the guiding light throughout her quest to win the competition. She emphasized, “Your belief in me has lifted me up when I doubted myself, and your encouragement has propelled me forward with unwavering determination. Thank you for being my pillars of strength and love. To my manager, I want to say a big thank you for believing in me. My coach, my costume designers and makeup designer (Sidiq Closet, Zain Fashion House and Dazzy Makeover), you guys were incredible in what you do. I say a big thank you. My heart is overflowing with appreciation as I have been crowned as your MISS FREETOWN.”
She said that the journey was a roller-coaster of emotions, filled with challenges, triumphs and unforgettable moments.
She narrated that from the moment she decided to step on the stage, she was fueled by a passion to make a difference and represent her Central Community with grace and purpose.
Sarafina also complimented her fellow contestants whom she said were her source of inspiration. “To my fellow contestants, each of you has inspired me with your intelligence, talent and unwavering determination. You have shown me the true meaning of sisterhood, and I am so grateful for the friendships we have formed along the way.”
She thanked the organizers of the pageant for creating a platform to showcase their hidden talents. “To the organizers of this pageant, thank you for creating a platform where women can showcase their talents, advocate for their causes, and inspire others. Your dedication to empowering young women is truly remarkable. And most importantly, I express my deepest gratitude to the judges for recognizing my potential and bestowing this incredible honor upon me. I promise to carry the title of MISS FREETOWN with pride and responsibility, using my voice to amplify the voices of those who need to be heard. This victory is not just mine alone; it belongs to every woman who has dared to dream big, who has fought for their place in the world, and who has never given up on their aspirations,” she concluded.
