Big Sister Season 3 winner launches foundation

Joyce Grace Turner, the winner of Big Sister Salone season 3, has launched a charity organization named ‘Grace Welfare Foundation’ at Salomi Vocational Training Institute at Texaco, a community in the East of Freetown. The Foundation aims at supporting teenage mothers in Texaco community.

Zainab Sheriff, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Big Sister Reality TV Show, and Hajar Boma, the President of Power Women 232, are some of the personalities from the entertainment industry who attended the launch.

A workshop and training of 25 teenage mothers also commenced during the launch of the Foundation.

Turner said that the training aims at developing expertise in Make-up and Gara-tie-dying which she said would serve as a source of revenue for teenage mothers.

She said that having been a teenage mother, she is familiar with its consequences, she, together with her team, decided to support teenage mothers who could not support themselves and their kids.

“ We want to see that young people become strong and vibrant in the communities. Again, the Foundation is aiming at giving back to the society what they gave me while I was competing for Big Sister in 2021. They made me win the show, so this is one of my pay-backs to the Community. We believe that with such support, they will support themselves and help the society,” Turner said.

She called on every humanitarian to positively support vulnerable people in society so as to create positive change in society.

Turner is a model, entrepreneur and brand ambassador for Orange Telecommunications Network. She is a continuing student at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM). She is studying Applied Accounting.

Teenage mothers together with the community people thanking and appreciating Turner for establishing the Foundation said that, they were every happy for the foundation, saying that, they would do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of the founder. “We will also make use of the foundation and promote it to another level,” he said.
